Ed Hersh
Ed Hersh was named Vice President, Documentaries and Specials, Court TV, in January 2001. Hersh oversees production of the crime and justice network's original prime time documentary specials and series including CRIME STORIES, MUGSHOTS, FORENSIC FILES and HOLLYWOOD & CRIME.
Hersh, an award-winning news and documentary producer, came to Court TV from A&E where he served as Vice President, Documentary Programming. His duties included the oversight of Investigative Reports and American Justice. Prior to A&E, Hersh worked for 16 years at ABC News in various senior production capacities including senior producer, program development for ABC News. He also was senior producer for World News Tonight With Peter Jennings and Our World, as well as a producer for the newsmagazine, Day One.
Hersh received an Emmy for the ABC News broadcast, Peter Jennings Reporting: Who Is Ross Perot? Additionally, his work has been honored by the National Association of Black Journalists, the Gabriel Awards, the National Association of Science Writers, the American Bar Association and the Columbia-duPont Awards.
In addition Hersh served as Vice-President of Kunhardt Productions, where he developed and produced documentary programs for both cable and broadcast. He also served as a senior managing director at Hill and Knowlton, Inc. and as Vice President of Kunhardt Productions where he developed and produced programs for broadcast and cable.
Based in New York, he is a graduate of Syracuse University's Newhouse School and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, where he also served as research and teaching assistant to the late Fred W. Friendly, Edward R. Murrow Professor of Journalism.
