Jason Williams

Jason Williams is the President and co-founder of JWM Productions, a non-fiction film production company based in Takoma Park, MD.

Founded in 1996, JWM Productions is a multiple Emmy Award-winning company with more than one hundred hours of quality programming to its credit. Recent productions include The Treasure Seekers (13X60' HDTV) for National Geographic TV; Challenger: Go For Launch (1X60') for Discovery and the BBC; The Unfinished War: The Decade Since Desert Storm (1X60') for CNN; Space Science for Kids (17X30') for Schlessinger Media; The Great National Parks of the World (3X60') for The Reader's Digest, and Treasure! (3X60' HDTV) for The Learning Channel.

Past productions include programs on contemporary cultural issues such as Behind the Badge (2X60') and Inside the Inferno (2X60') for The Learning Channel; natural history films like Underdogs: Prairie Dogs Under Attack (1X60') and Tiger! (1X60') for Turner Original Productions, and The Velvet Killer (1X30') and Saving JJ (1X30') for National Geographic Explorer; as well as adventure programming such as Expedition Discovery for Discovery (1X60').

JWM's children's division specializes in scientific and historical programming. Programs include the classroom edition of Lost Civilizations for Time Life Education (9X60'), the three-part science series, Extremely Gross Anatomy for National Geographic Kids, the 9X30' series Ancient Civilizations for Children and the 8X30' series Weather for Children, both for Schlessinger Media.

In the course of fifteen years of filmmaking, Jason Williams has travelled and filmed in thirty countries and six continents. He has covered subject matter as diverse as natural history, anthropology, breaking news, ancient history and marine technology.

Prior to 1995, Jason Williams was a Vice-President of Time-Life Video & TV and the Series Producer of Lost Civilizations -- the sole recipient of the 1996 Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Informational Series.
