Bringing the world's best programme makers into the homes of audiences across the world.

Granda InternationalGranada International is delighted once again to sponsor the RealScreen Summit as high quality factual programming is a vital part of our business.

Granada International, incorporating the ITEL brand, is an international distribution powerhouse responsible for more than 15,000 hours of animation, factual, drama, comedy, natural history, wildlife, entertainment and lifestyle programming. It is a major player in programme finance and co-productions, with high quality and innovation central to its Factual and Wildlife portfolio.

Factual and Wildlife encompasses programming from Granada Media and United's own companies, as well as top independents. Led by Head of Factual Programming JOHN DRURY, it works with documentary makers in the UK and around the world to instigate and develop ground-breaking factual projects for the global market.

Typical of this innovation is Epic Tales, a series of ancient history films featuring state of the art computer-generated images. The range of programming under the Granada International banner includes the popular science series Enduring Extremes, which explores the mysteries of the human body through some of the world's ultimate physical and mental challenges; the Hidden strand of documentaries which uncover the secrets of some of the world's most famous places; and Nero's Golden House, including an amazing graphic reconstruction of one of history's greatest buildings: the Emperor's Golden House.

Other titles include the acclaimed Conquistadors, a series which combines the spectacular visuals of the best travel adventure films with the excitement of narrative history; Medical Mysteries explores the mysteries and extremes of the human body, with Human Zoo a fascinating look at human behaviour in a variety of testing situations. The extremes of the Earth are documented in stunning style in Savage Planet.

JOHN DRURY says:

"Granada International targets the best producer talent and supports it with strong distribution and development funding. We are looking in particular for documentary ideas in popular science, health, adventure and ancient history, plus there is an appetite for innovative factual entertainment formats and big "event " programming.

"The merger with ITEL has created an even greater portfolio of available programming and access to the talents of a wider number of in-house production companies and renowned independent factual and wildlife producers. Above all it has created a fantastic focus for supporting fresh ideas and creative energy.

"We will continue to seek out producers who can help us grow in new directions, programme makers who will give us something unique, something which plugs into the latest techniques in documentary making, independent companies with entrepreneurial instincts with projects which will work well internationally."

John is involved in two seminars during the RealScreen summit. He is the speaker at Funding Interactive Content: Where's The Money Coming From and a panellist on Industry Town Hall Q & A with Top Execs.
