Terry Bryant
Terry Bryant was named CPB's Vice President and Chief Content Officer for
Television and Digital Media in March 2001. She oversees the planning and
execution of CPB programming initiatives and plays a leadership role in
fostering public broadcasting's transition to digital content platforms.
Prior to joining CPB, Bryant served as Senior Vice President of Broadcasting
at Washington, DC's WETA where she was responsible for the station's
television broadcast scheduling; traffic and broadcast operations; local and
national on-air promotion; audience research and WETA's national station
relations marketing efforts. She was also responsible for the development
and marketing of WETA's digital broadcast service, WETA DT. As a member of
WETA's National Programming Portfolio Review Committee, she actively
participated in the development of both local and national content for WETA.
Bryant joined WETA in 1983 as director of on-air fundraising. She has also
worked for KTCA in Minneapolis as a producer of on-air fundraising.
Bryant is a charter board member and past president of The Public Television
Programmers Association (PTPA) founded in the early 1990s. In 1992 she won
the first ever Programmer of the Year award presented by PTPA and Trac
Media. She is an Executive Board member of CINE, a nonprofit organization
dedicated to the recognition and support of excellence in the design and
development of film, video and related media.
Bryant earned a bachelor's degree in broadcasting and business
administration from Iowa State University.
