Corisande Albert

Corisande Albert Corisande joined TransAtlantic Films as Director of Business Affairs in 1994 and, after successfully negotiating several major co-production deals with U.S., French and English broadcasters, she moved into production.

First, she wrote and directed three episodes of the award winning 26 part series, History's Turning Points(r), a co-production with The Learning Channel in the States, Teleac in Holland, ORF in Austria and La Cinquieme in France. Then, she wrote and directed Amazing Animal Adaptors, a ground breaking wild life special on the physiological ability of animals to live at the extremes of our planet - in co-production with Animal Planet in the States, La Cinquieme in France and TVNZ in New Zealand. This was followed by How Animals Tell the Time, with the same co-production partners, plus NDR in Germany.

In 1997-99 she was Series Producer (and also directed several episodes) of Horse Tales, a 26 x 26' series of story led documentaries of bareback adventures around the world in co-production with Life Channel and Sleeping Giant in Canada, Animal Planet in the States and Natural History in New Zealand - the first UK/Canadian Treaty Co-Production involving a series of factual documentary programmes. Her film, Cowboy Dreams, won first prize at the 2001 Epona Festival for the best horse documentary of the year.

At the same time Corisande became an on-air personality as a trailblazer/presenter of one episode of TransAtlantic's major 26 x 50' travel series, Trailblazers, in co-production with the Travel Channel in the States and Discovery Europe and The Royal Geographic Society in London.

In 2000 and 2001 she was series producer of Science of Love and Extreme Body Parts, each a series of 3 x 50' in co-production with Discovery Health Channel in the States and Great North in Canada as UK/Canada Treaty Co-production partner with Alliance Atlantis distributing for ROW; and with the same partners plus S4C in Wales and NDR in Germany, Sleep and Dreams (2 x 50').

Corisande is presently producing TransAlantic's first drama in 20 years, Belzoni, shot on location in Egypt for Channel 4.; as well as series producing 2025, a 4 x 50' voyage into the future for Discovery in the States and the final three programmes of the Science of Life series ( Cloning and Extreme Body Parts II) with Discovery Health Channel in the States and Great North in Canada as UK/Canada Treaty Co-production partner with Alliance Atlantis distributing for ROW.

She is also Executive Producing, for completion later this year, Legends of the Living Dead, a 4 x 50' co-production with S4C and S4C International in Wales and the Travel Channel in the States.

She is an Oxford graduate (MA Hons Classics), and practiced law as a barrister at Lamb Chambers, Middle Temple in London prior to joining TransAtlantic.
