David Frank

Emmy award winning producer David M. Frank is executive producer and president of INDIGO FILMS which is currently in production on a documentary special for the History Channel entitled THE TRUE STORY OF PT 109. The company has just completed CITY COPS: SAN FRANCISCO BLUE for The Learning Channel (TLC.) and THE BAY OF PIG DECLASSIFIED for the HISTORY UNDERCOVER series on The History Channel.

INDIGO FILMS is also filming two mini-series for The Travel Channel: OUT OF THIS WORLD and AMERICA’S MOST HAUNTED PLACES.

The company has recently completed two specials called THE WRIGHT BROTHERS CONTROVERSY and BREAKOUT FROM ALCATRAZ. And they are also regular contributors to the INVESTIGATIVE REPORTS series on A&E and won the 1998 Gold Award in the New York Festivals for CYBERSEX COP.

MISSING FILES: THE JFK ASSASSINATION includes two recently discovered films taken on the day of President John F. Kennedy’s murder which have been kept secret for more than 30-years. It also features the only footage taken inside the Texas Book Depository Building, just minutes after Lee Harvey Oswald reportedly fired the fatal shots from a corner window on the 6th floor. The program received the highest rating ever for a HISTORY UNDERCOVER program.

THE PLOT TO KILL LINCOLN is a one-hour documentary that investigates new controversial theories about the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln.

MYSTERIES OF THE U2 SPY PLANE examines new evidence which proves that both the Russian and the United States governments lied about the downing of Gary Powers’ famous U2 spy plane over the Soviet Union.

For three years, Frank produced more than 50 episodes of the television series ANCIENT MYSTERIES for A&E Television. His two-hour special on "Voodoo" won the 1997 CINE Golden Eagle award. He also served as supervising producer on a variety of BIOGRAPHY programs.

Frank also received the 1996 CINE Golden Eagle award for best documentary series for his A&E series MYSTERIES OF THE BIBLE, which also received two Cable Ace nominations for best documentary series. He won an Emmy award for producing the reality series SECRETS & MYSTERIES for ABC-TV. He produced and wrote on THE REAL WEST series for A&E and produced INTIMATE PORTRAIT specials for Lifetime Cable.

For more than 20 years, Frank has produced a wide variety of documentaries and reality programs, including CASE CLOSED, for the USA Cable Network, and the syndicated series MISSING-REWARD. He was an executive for four years on the original ABC-TV series RIPLEY’S BELIEVE IT OR NOT! He also produced for the series SIGHTINGS on FOX-TV as well as for AMERICA'S MOST WANTED. Prior to that he served as a coordinating producer for the Los Angeles PBS station on KCET: 28 TONIGHT.
