Brian J. Kelly
For over 15 years Brian Kelly has made a name for himself as an award winning producer, director and writer of cutting edge television programming seen around the world. In his current position as General Manager and Executive Producer Brian oversees the development and production of all original programming, while driving creative content and innovative solutions for Henninger Productions many non-broadcast clients.
Known for his ability to captivate audiences with compelling non-fiction television, Brian has created such highly-rated programs as "In the Grip of Evil," "U.S.S. Forrestal: Situation Critical," "Seized At Sea" and "Space Tech," a 13-part series for public television. In 1999, Brian's film "Pole Position " was voted "Best of DC" at the Washington Film and Video Council's annual Peer Awards. In 2000, Brian was honored by the Peer Awards committee with the award for Best Director in a non-fiction work for his film Jack The Ripper, An Ongoing Mystery. In 2001, (for the third straight year) the Washington film community honored Brian's work among the best in the region with the award for Best Documentary for his film Seized at Sea.
A former independent filmmaker, Brian's expertise as a producer, writer and director as well as the business and technical aspects of production has been key in his developing and producing hundreds of hours of television programming worldwide. Brian recently created; executive produced, directed and co-wrote a four-hour mini-series for the History Channel entitled Gold, which debuted in August of 2001. Filmed in HDTV Gold represents (to date) History Channel's single greatest promotional effort with the series premiering in 60 countries simultaneously. The series was the marquee event in History Channel's most watched month in the history of the network.
Brian began his TV production career in 1987, at the Discovery Channel where he helped to create, develop and produce high quality programming for worldwide broadcast.
