Charlotte Odele

Charlotte Odele is an award-winning radio and television producer who has been with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation for more than 20 years. As a Commissioning Editor at WITNESS, she works closely with predominantly Canadian independent producers in all stages of project development. She also acquires international programming.

WITNESS is the flagship documentary series on CBC television. Its focus is contemporary social issues with strong storylines. WITNESS has won many broadcasting awards including two Geminis, Canada's top honor, for Best Documentary Series, and three Emmys for Outstanding Investigative Journalism. "OFFSPRING", a recently commissioned work won the IDFA Audience Award, from a field of over two hundred films, at the International Documentary Film Festival Forum Amsterdam 2001.

Prior to WITNESS, Charlotte produced programming for network radio and television current affairs, as well as working in drama where she assessed the viability of fiction and non-fiction material for screen adaptation. She also evaluated a wide variety of proposals for Canadian film funding agencies.
