Kris Slava

Kris Slava Kris Slava is Vice President of Acquisitions and Scheduling at Trio, where he is responsible for all network acquisitions, scheduling, and operations. He came to Trio in 2000 to relaunch the existing service as "Popular Arts Television", after it was acquired by Barry Diller's USA Cable. For the relaunch he bought over 600 hours of programming. Series: Sessions at West 54th Street; the legendary Rowan and Martin's Laugh In; the daily concert Trio on Tour; The Secret Life of Us; The Dame Edna Experience; Leonard Bernstein's Young Peoples Concerts; Trio Pure Video; The Designers; Model TV; The Originals; Culture Shock and Trio on Tour. Specials: Lee J. Cobb's Death of a Salesman, Happy Holidays with Frank and Bing; The Eurythmics Peace Tour; Robbie Williams at Slane Castle; San Remo International Pop Festival; Trio World Fashion Tour; Elton John's Yellow Brick Road; and Satchmo the Great. Before Trio, he spent 10 years at A&E Network where he executive produced all music and arts programming, including the Emmy?-winning production Peter Pan starring Cathy Rigby and the Emmy?-winning series A&E Live By Request. He also executive produced all British mystery programming, including Midsummer Murders and a new series of David Suchet Poirot films. In addition, he was supervising producer on all British drama specials, including the Emmy?-winning miniseries Horatio Hornblower; and Charles Sturridge's Longitude starring Michael Gambon and Jeremy Irons. He lives in Manhattan and writes for the theater in his spare time. A native of Bloomington, Illinois, he graduated from Northwestern University with B.S. in Performance Studies.
