Julian Ware
Julian Ware has worked in documentary production for over 25 years and has numerous co-productions to his credit. He has worked for ATV and Central Televison and is now Head of ITN Factual. He has worked on co-productions with many US broadcasters including PBS, Discovery and CNN.
Julian Ware joined ITN from Central Television after more than 20 years in factual programme-making. As Executive Producer at Central, Julian was responsible for many award-winning documentaries in the flagship series 'Viewpoint'. He was also charged with developing documentary formats that would appeal to a wider audience. Two examples are the high-rating series 'Lifeboat' and the much acclaimed two hour special 'The Last Show on Earth'.
Julian has also produced major series for the British ITV network including the UK series 'The Nuclear Age', a ten-part history of the global nuclear arms race. During 1990 he managed Central Television's programme output for British Satellite Broadcasting - some 145 hours of broadcast material.
Julian has lived in the United States and whilst there, worked on such projects as 'Vietnam - A Television History', which was a major PBS production that attracted international accolades for its coverage of the Vietnam conflict.
As Head of ITN Factual - he is responsible for all of Factual's output, totalling more than 100 hours a year. Productions include programming for the BBC, ITV, Channel Four, Channel 5, A&E and Discovery, on subjects as diverse as the Loch Ness Monster to Russian music - whilst also contributing to major UK TV strands, including; Cutting Edge, Equinox, Dispatches, Network First, Secret History, Timewatch and To The Ends of The Earth.
