Leslie Wiener

Leslie Wiener When Wiener left home in NY to live in Paris in 1983, she had two exceptional tools in my pocket: a masters degree in television production and a mastery of the English language. At the time, both of those skills were in great demand in continental Europe. After a couple of busy years as a freelance producer, Wiener joined a young avant-garde company named GEDEON. The next 14 years were to become an extraordinary plunge into the world of documentary filmmaking and international coproduction.

In 1993, Wiener took three years off from GEDEON to collaborate with Pilot Films on the development and production of the LONELY PLANET series. And from 1998 to 2001, she joined VM Group as Head of International Development.

Over the years, Wiener have been fortunate to work on a number of prestigious projects with television broadcasters around the world. The projects range from archeology and adventure to mental health and social injustice.

The last documentary film which Wiener co-produced and directed with Peter Schnall of Partisan Pictures has lead her into a new world of production. While she continues to collaborate with GEDEON Programmes on international coproduction, Wiener has recently been commissioned by the National Institute of Mental Health to design and produce a number of Public Service Ad Campaigns for national broadcast. The challenge is an exciting one.
