Leo Eaton

Leo Eaton Leo Eaton is a British-born independent film-maker who's been writing, producing, directing and executive producing TV factual series and specials for US and overseas broadcasters for more than 3 decades. Between 1989 & 1994 he was Senior VP of National/International Production at Maryland Public Television and ran the US office of Café Productions through 2000. Recent work includes In Search of Ancient Ireland for PBS & RTE (Ireland), In the Footsteps of Alexander the Great and Conquistadors, with British historian Michael Wood, for PBS & BBC-TV, as well as the award-winning Kratt Brothers children's wildlife series Kratts' Creatures and Zoboomafoo. He's produced and directed many Investigative Reports for A&E and is currently executive producing a 13-hour prime-time wildlife series with the Kratt Brothers for the National Geographic Channel. Eaton taught film production & scriptwriting at the University of Texas (Austin) and lived for many years in Greece, Portugal, Canada and Mexico. With a special focus on co-production, Eaton has developed successful partnerships with more than 20 international broadcasters, especially in Europe & S.E. Asia. His latest work, a 2-hour music special on mariachi-hosted by Plácido Domingo-and a new 4-hour series with Michael Wood titled The Life & Times of William Shakespeare will be seen on PBS in 2003. His book In Search of Ancient Ireland has just been published.
