Robert I. Freedman

Robert I. Freedman Robert I. Freedman practices primarily in the field of entertainment law, representing clients in the film, television and theater industries. He is the author of the leading form book on television contracts, Entertainment Industry Contracts: Television, published by Matthew Bender, and is a contributing editor to Entertainment Law and Finance and Broadcast Law Reports.

Mr. Freedman represents award-winning filmmakers, television producers and a broad array of industry talent, including writers, directors, performers and composers. He was a founding partner of Leavy Rosensweig & Hyman.

Mr. Freedman is a former General-Counsel of WNET-TV and lectures on television contract law at Columbia University College of Law and Hofstra Law School. He has been counsel to the Association of Independent Video and Filmmakers since 1978. He is also a past chairman of the New York County Lawyer's Committee on Communications and Entertainment Law and was founding treasurer of the Association of Independent Music Publishers.

Mr. Freedman is a graduate of Lehigh University and Syracuse University College of Law. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Dance Institute and the Murray Hill Muse Cooperative Association.
