Marena Manzoufas
As Head of Programming, Marena's position is to oversee the long-term strategic programming direction for the network, which includes the network schedule, supervising the acquisition of both international and domestic programming, and actively build alliances with key television distributors both in Australia and internationally.
Before joining the ABC in August 2001, Marena was at Beyond, one of Australia's leading production and international distribution companies, for the last six years. She was General Manager of Beyond Distribution, responsible for the overall management and performance of the company's sales, marketing, operations and business affairs operations in Sydney, New York and London.
Prior to her Beyond appointment, Marena was Head of Program Acquisitions and ABC International at ABC TV from 1989 to 1994. During this time, she established ABC International, as part of a strategy by ABC TV to distribute its own programming, and also became its head.
From 1980 to 1989, she was Deputy Program Director at SBS TV, having initially been seconded to the task force to set up the station, following her work for the secretariat of the Inquiry into Multicultural Television.
