Dan Harrison
Senior Vice President, Cross-Network Strategy and Emerging Networks
NBC Universal Cable Entertainment

What genre of documentary/non-fiction do you program?
Primarily pop culture programming with the occasional contemporary arts programming. Critically-acclaimed, commercial-appeal programming.

How many hours or slots do you program per year?
Bravo is a 24x7 service (except for some infomercials).

What percentage or number of hours are commissioned vs. acquired? (Ie. 60% commissions/ 40% acquisitions)
% changes frequently, but goal is to 50% original in prime.

What is the average amount for acquisitions and/or license fee?
Depends upon the programming - it would be a very broad range.

What are you looking for right now?
For acquisitions, critically-acclaimed, broad-appeal programming (i.e., commercial programming) that targets an upscale audience.

How do you prefer to be pitched?
Phone/e-mail.

What is your biggest pitch turnoff?
Not being clear and concise. Not knowing what kind of network Bravo is, so not prepared for the pitch.

What is your market circuit?
Wherever necessary.
