Wide Angle - We commission and acquire documentaries on international current events, 45 minutes in length. For more information visit Thirteen.org/Wideangle.
General News and Public Affairs - we commission single documentaries, limited documentary series, and current event series, all of a substantive nature. We do not acquire programs.
How many hours or slots do you program per year?
Wide Angle - 13 slots per year from late June/early July through late September.
General News and Public Affairs - varies.
What percentage or number of hours are commissioned vs. acquired? (Ie. 60% commissions/ 40% acquisitions)
Wide Angle - 25% acquired (and re-versioned) and 75% commissioned and/or co-produced.
General News and Public Affairs - All commissions and co-productions. No acquisitions.

What are you looking for right now?
Wide Angle - strong narratives with engaging characters that reveal the impact of current world events and issues through personal stories. Exclusively international stories with no American content.
General News and Public Affairs - documentaries and series of a substantive nature that are ORIGINAL.
How do you prefer to be pitched?
One or two page written summary providing us with background on the issue, idea, or problem, a clear sense of the story or stories and the characters, the substance of the series, the nature of your access to the material, and a brief filmography.
