As vice president of programming for The Science Channel, Roger Henry, a 10-year Discovery Networks veteran, designs and executes the network's programming strategy and leads the channel's financial strategies for programming and production. He also oversees the channel's scheduling and acquisition teams.
Prior to joining The Science Channel, Henry served as director of programming for Discovery Health Channel, where he created and implemented the network's programming strategy, oversaw the day-to-day activities of its scheduling team and provided guidance to the program development and acquisition processes. From 1999-2003, Henry served as director of programming for the Discovery Channel and prior to that, worked from 1994-1999 as a research analyst and manager for the Discovery Channel and TLC.
Before joining Discovery, Henry worked as a field representative at Nielsen Media Research, based in Dunedin, Fla. In this role, Henry managed a large four-county area, responsible for data collection, "Nielsen family" maintenance and new employee development.
Henry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in economics with a concentration in marketing from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He is based at Discovery's world headquarters in Silver Spring, Md.
