Bill Smee oversees the development and production of all original programming for Discovery Times Channel. Launched in March 2003, the network has won multiple industry honors for its programming, including an Emmy, an Overseas Press Club Award, three National Headliner Awards, a BANFF Rockie Award, and has had a film selected for competition at the Sundance Film Festival. Smee joined Discovery Times Channel after a 15-year tenure at CNN, where he served as senior supervising producer for the multiple award-winning CNN Presents. Under Smee's leadership, CNN Presents received seven Emmy nominations in 2002, winning four. Prior to that, Smee was supervising producer in charge of the Washington bureau of the weekly newsmagazine, CNN & TIME. Smee began his tenure at CNN at CNN Headline News.
