The Realscreen Interview: Jane Root, Discovery Channel
January 31, 2007 - 9:00 am to 9:50 am - Grand Ballroom South
One-on-one with Jane Root, EVP & GM, Discovery Channel.
Jane Root is a bit of a television renaissance woman, she's been a freelance jounalist and film critic, she ran her own successful production company, and she has been atop two major channels on both sides of the Atlantic. Her success speaks for itself, having won the prestigious Channel of the Year award at the Edinburgh Television Festival, two years in a row as Controller of BBC TWO, turning a young chef into an international celebrity (Jamie Oliver), and presiding over the launch of some of Discovery Channel's highest rated series, including Deadliest Catch, Dirty Jobs, I Shouldn't Be Alive and Going Tribal since her arrival in 2004.
